This course is aimed at those who wish to increase their knowledge of the practical aspects of home entertainment systems including radio, television and audiovisual (AV) systems. It will provide an overview of digital video and audio broadcast and identifies the key enabling technologies behind the systems. Students will also cover the various methods of interconnecting systems in order to obtain the most elective signal strength and picture quality. They will gain an understanding of components, circuits and systems used for home entertainment and will gain relevant practical skills in the testing, fault-finding and repair of home entertainment systems.
